Shannon King honoured by the Anishinaabeg Women’s Empowerment (AWE) Collective
Last week seven Anishinaabe women were honoured by the Anishinaabeg Women’s Empowerment (AWE) Collective based on the Seven Grandfather teachings. One recipient being our own Shannon King , for the Manaaji’idiwin (Respect) award.
Manaaji’idiwin (Respect) • A woman who leads with respect reminds us to treat others how we would like to be treated. She understands deeply that to be harmful to others is to harm herself. Therefore, she is cautious and understands that when she centers self-respect, she knows it not only uplifts her but her family and community.
Shannon is a loving mother, a strong leader, a partner, an educator, and a successful business owner. We are proud of Shannon’s accomplishments and find ourselves lucky to be part of her team.
